Toy Story 5 Trailer Sets Woody and Buzz Versus a Digital Device
Exactly 30 years since the first Toy Story movie was released, establishing the animation giant as a major film company and bringing viewers to beloved characters like Woody (Tom Hanks) and Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen), who are now famous worldwide.
Coming in 2026, the fifth installment is scheduled for release. The initial preview for Toy Story 5 landed this week, offering a glimpse into the plot but leaving viewers wondering how it will address the conclusion of Toy Story 4.
Bonnie's New Toy: A Frog-Shaped Tablet Frightens the Gang
In the teaser shows the young girl — who received the toy collection when he grew up — getting a latest plaything, one that alarms Woody, Buzz, and the crew. Bonnie acquires her initial digital gadget, and she is thrilled about it.
Theoretically, the amphibian-inspired device will come to life just like Bonnie's other toys. Still, the toys appear to consider it as a danger intending to supplant them, which it likely will.
The Cowboy's Comeback: Mysteries from Toy Story 4
An element the trailer doesn't touch on is why Woody is back with his companions in the child's bedroom. The end of Toy Story 4 depicted him set off on a fresh journey with the shepherdess (the actress), journeying with a carnival and assisting giveaway items locate loving owners.
Surely, Pixar will address the consequences of Toy Story 4 in the movie. Witnessing him show up in Bonnie's room without warning is somewhat puzzling, though. It also raises questions whether his partner will have returned with him. And where is the stuntman toy (the star)?
Continuity from the Last Installment
At the very least, some aspects are carrying over from the prior film. The last thing Woody did before departing for his fresh path was hand over his symbol of authority to Jessie (the voice actor), leaving her in charge of the toy domain. In the teaser displays the badge pinned to her shirt.
It is hoped she is still the driving force among the group.
Toy Story 5 arrives in theaters on the scheduled date.
